A Gypsy Soul & yin for adventure.
Currently based in Sydney, Australia, Wynonah Dove is an Appalachian-Australian "gyspy hillbilly" who's travelled many a well-worn mile from her home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, USA. She was privileged to grow up on the Crooked Road near the Birthplace of Country Music, Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee and she proudly shares a rich, distinct musical heritage with the likes of Loretta Lynn, the Carter Family & June Carter Cash, Ralph Stanley, Dolly Parton, Patty Loveless, and Dwight Yoakam.
Aside from chasing the music & out of necessity, Wynonah Dove became a true "jack of all trades" - having grown up poor on a farm in the mountains, she learned the value in hard work, & self-sufficiency. As an adult, she came back to farming for a while, raising cattle, rabbits and chickens - and spent long, hot days on a tractor in the hay fields (country song?). Over the years, she worked with seniors, in the funeral industry, higher education and resort hospitality.
Wynonah Dove is currently the Director for FIRST Australia (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) - the world's leading youth-serving nonprofit advancing STEM Education, headquartered in the USA.
Wynonah's US television appearances include CMT's "Redneck Island" with Steve Austin and FOX "NASCAR's Fast Track to Fame". Additionally, Wynonah collaborated on development and starred in "The Farm", a pilot for BBC Worldwide and the Discovery Channel. In Australia, you may have caught Wynonah's appearances on ABC's Hard Quiz with Tom Gleeson in 2019 and 2020.
She spent a few years in Nashville, Tennessee honing music industry know-how & songwriting, a stint in the Carolinas soaking in the iconic beach music scene and several years touring in the U.S. & internationally with her tribute to Dolly Parton. In addition to Dolly, Wynonah has performed in tribute shows as the iconic Patsy Cline and country rocker, Wynonna Judd. As herself, she has shared festival and concert stages with bluegrass legends and country stars over the past 20+ years.
The Search for Self is a journey - avoid the Great Distraction.
